Sensory intelligence trained therapist September 2021
Nina received her bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy at Stellenbosch University in South Africa in 2012 and in 2013 started working in a general hospital setting in South Africa. During this time, she has always had a special interest in pediatrics and completed a variety of courses as well as had a variety of diagnoses that she treated. In 2014 she worked as a locum occupational therapist until she traveled to Canada where she volunteered at a pediatric clinic while awaiting to complete her National Occupational Therapy Certification Exam. After passing the exam she returned to South Africa where she worked as an Occupational therapist in a chemical dependency unit. During this time, she started her Ayers Sensory Integration diploma and completed it in 2019. Her experience in mental health developed a keen interest in neurodevelopmental disorders and psychiatric disorders and this assisted with a more holistic approach to treatment in general.
Apart from several other courses and volunteering, pediatrics has always been a passion of Nina’s, while her other interests are playing guitar, hiking, jogging, cooking and seizing every opportunity to continue learning.
