Alexa Long-Metcalfe
Occupational Therapist
Alexa earned both her undergraduate and master’s degrees in Occupational Therapy from McGill University, graduating in 2025. She discovered the profession during CEGEP and was instantly drawn to how it combines creativity, science, and meaningful connections with children and their families. During her studies, Alexa completed two pediatric clinical placements in both outpatient and inpatient settings. These experiences allowed her to support children with diverse developmental and rehabilitation needs while collaborating closely with families to promote participation, confidence, and growth.
Alexa has always loved working with children. As a competitive swimmer growing up, she spent many years as a lifeguard and swim instructor, during which she developed a deep appreciation for helping kids build confidence, learn new skills, and celebrate their strengths. During her undergraduate studies, she worked at Kiddo Active as a part-time receptionist, where she first became inspired to pursue pediatric OT, and she is thrilled to have returned as a clinician.
Alexa is dedicated to building supportive and trusting relationships with children and their families. She strives to create sessions that are playful, engaging, and tailored to each child’s interests, empowering them to grow, explore, and reach their goals.
Outside of the clinic, Alexa enjoys running, swimming, spending time outdoors, and relaxing at her family cottage.
