At Kiddo Active Therapy, we are excited to introduce our Dance Club, a specialized program designed and led by Harrison, our Occupational Therapist and trained dancer. This unique 6-week dance program is carefully crafted to promote essential developmental skills while fostering creativity, confidence, and self-expression in children. Whether your child is an experienced dancer or completely new to movement, Dance Club offers a supportive and engaging environment for all abilities.
What Makes Our Dance Club Special? Unlike traditional dance classes, Dance Club is tailored by an Occupational Therapist to support children in improving their motor skills, coordination, and sensory processing. With a focus on Occupational Therapy principles, this program goes beyond dance, helping children build body awareness, emotional regulation, balance, and motor planning—all through the joy of movement.
Program Highlights:
Led by an Occupational Therapist: Harrison’s dual expertise in both Occupational Therapy and dance ensures that each session is designed with a therapeutic foundation.
Body Awareness: Children will learn how to control and understand their movements, improving their spatial awareness and posture.
Coordination & Motor Skills: Through dance activities, kids will develop coordination, bilateral integration, and timing, all while having fun!
Sensory Integration: Dance Club incorporates a variety of sensory experiences, helping children process and respond to sensory input in a positive way.
Emotional Expression: Dance is a powerful tool for emotional regulation. Children will explore how different movements can express emotions, enhancing their emotional intelligence.
Confidence & Creativity: As children progress through the program, they will have opportunities to choreograph and perform, building their self-esteem and encouraging self-expression.
Who Can Join? Dance Club is designed for children aged 4-12, and no prior dance experience is required. It’s especially beneficial for children who may need support with coordination, sensory processing, emotional regulation, or body awareness. Our inclusive and adaptive approach ensures every child is supported at their own level and pace.
