Erica completed both her undergraduate and master’s degrees in Occupational Therapy from McGill University. She is excited to be joining the dynamic team at Kiddo Active and to be working alongside such knowledgeable and inspiring therapists.
Erica has had the opportunity to work with children of all ages since her teenage years, when she first developed a passion for pediatrics by working as a swimming and Aqua Percept instructor at the Pointe-Claire Aquatic Center. In 2013, she travelled to Peru to volunteer as an assistant therapist at a school for children with disabilities, which confirmed her desire to work in the field of pediatrics. Throughout her studies, she has had the chance to expand her knowledge of pediatric Occupational Therapy by completing a clinical rotation at the Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary and by carrying out a research project on the participation patterns of young children with disabilities. She has also had the opportunity to work with children and adolescents in a mental health setting. These experiences have allowed her to appreciate the importance of working collaboratively with the child, their families and the rest of the multidisciplinary team.
Erica would describe herself as a dynamic and passionate person who strives to make every therapy session fun and stimulating. During her free time, she enjoys attending fitness classes, doing yoga, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
