Madeline Heleno
Speech Language Pathologist
Maddie completed her bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences at McMaster University with a minor in psychology. She has always been passionate about working with children, and through her undergraduate studies she developed a keen interest in linguistics and psychology. This led her to pursue her Masters in Speech-Language Pathology at McGill University.
Throughout her educational and clinical experience, Maddie has developed strong interpersonal skills and a love for working with families from diverse backgrounds. She continuously applies her strong creativity and problem-solving abilities to adapt to the communication needs, learning styles, and interests of her clientele. Maddie is particularly interested in the fields of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and literacy.
Maddie’s treatment philosophy centers around a neuro-affirming approach and client-centered care where honest and open collaboration with the client and family is always prioritized. She values the importance of parent and family involvement in sessions.
Outside of the clinic, Maddie enjoys playing sports, spending time outdoors, and crafting!
