Nicola Donovan
Speech Language Pathologist
Nicola’s career as a Speech-Language Pathologist was conceived during her undergraduate studies in Interdisciplinary Linguistics, which she completed at the University of Winnipeg, Manitoba, graduating in 2021. She moved to Montreal in 2022 to pursue her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, with a minor in Audiology, at McGill University. During her graduate studies, Nicola gained clinical experience in assessing and treating children, from preschoolers to teenagers, with speech, language, communication, and fluency difficulties.
Born and raised in the United Kingdom, Nicola immigrated to Canada with her husband, landing in Winnipeg on Christmas Day 2017! She has always been interested in languages, and has spent time living, studying, and working in France. So, upon returning to full-time education as part of the immigration process, she decided to study Linguistics, and, later, train as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
Nicola worked for over 10 years as a Solicitor in the UK before moving to Canada. Having left the legal profession and the UK to pursue a second career, Nicola is passionate about helping children overcome their communication challenges. She is absolutely thrilled to be able to do this as a member of the Kiddo Active team! She believes in a child-led, family-focused approach, working as a team with the child and their family to achieve their communication goals.
In her spare time, Nicola enjoys travelling and visiting different areas of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, North America, and the world! In addition, she enjoys going to music concerts, hiking and being out in nature, yoga, swimming, reading, playing board games, and immersing herself in a binge worthy TV series!
