Noriko has a Master's Degree in Creative Arts Therapies with a specialty in Art Therapy, and a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts.
She has worked with individuals ranging in age from 2 to 95 years old in a variety of environments including schools, daycares, private practices, hospitals and community organizations. Noriko has experiences in working with clients with anxiety, stress, depression, behaviour issues, special needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADD & ADHD, and various mental and physical illnesses (i.e. patients diagnosed with cancer etc). Noriko is dedicated to help children emotional and behavioural issues, and families develop a healthy relationship. As a trained art therapist, working with children and adolescents is one of her specialized competent areas. The areas of specialization include helping children struggling with school/family related difficulties, cultural/ gender identity issues as well as life transitions such as going through academic change, grieving process, going through/ recovering from illness etc.
By understanding each child’s background and experience, she offers individualized treatment focused on the child, rather than issues to work towards increasing self-awareness and improving well-being. Noriko incorporates not only creative arts therapy, but also Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) approaches.
