Bike club has been designed to help children with sensory-motor challenges learn to ride a 2-wheeled bicycle without training wheels. Parents get to accompany their child each session, where the group will be coached by an occupational therapist and a physiotherapist throughout each of the steps of learning to ride independently. Our astronaut themed program will build skills and confidence through 5 different levels. Therapists will introduce warm-up activities, use games to build balance and coordination skills, and then teach each step of riding and controlling a bicycle. Parents will be active participants in the session and will learn how to continue to practice with their child at home in between sessions and for the rest of the summer after the Bike Club.
Who is this club for: - Children aged 5-9 who are afraid of biking or have been unable to learn to ride a bicycle without training wheels.
Ratio: - Class size between 8-10 children. - If there are enough families interested we will be offering an alternate time slot an hour after the first one.
