Kiddo Active Therapy is excited to announce that Skating Club is coming back! Skating is such a traditional activity here in Montreal, and a great way to have some family fun outside during the cold months. This club has been designed to help children with sensory-motor challenges learn how to skate. Parents get to accompany their child each session, where the group will be coached by an occupational therapist and a physiotherapist throughout each of the steps of learning to skate safely. Therapists will introduce warm-up activities, and use games to build balance and coordination skills, as well as improve braking skills, and build better overall skating skills (turning, skating backwards, etc.). Our animal-themed program encourages kids to build skills and confidence progressively, at their own rhythm. Parents will be active participants in the sessions and will learn how to continue to practice with their child in between sessions and for the rest of the winter after the Skating Club.
