Brigitte MacAuley
Occupational Therapist
Brigitte earned her Master’s degree In Occupational therapy from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience, with a sociology minor in critical health studies. During her time in school, Brigitte was involved fundraising efforts for mental health organizations and charities focused on healthcare inequities. In 2016 she travelled to Ecuador to work with remote communities who had no access to healthcare. This sparked her passion for ensuring everyone has access to quality care!
Her previous experience includes working with children in summer and sports camps, daycare settings, and managing a summer reading program. Brigitte also grew up playing sports (specifically hockey and rugby), and loved coaching the younger kids. She has always had a strong desire to pursue a career that allowed her to work with the pediatric population. Her background in neuroscience has led to a strong interest in neurological and cognitive conditions. However, she is passionate about lifelong education and always looking to learn more.
Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family and dogs, exercising, reading, crafting and baking. Brigitte is very excited to be a member of the Kiddo Active team and to work with kids in her community. She hopes to be able to help each child identify their strengths and realize their goals.
